This afternoon my 5-year old daughter and I enjoyed a casual conversation about school. It was interesting to see the amount of 'rules' that she could recall about school. For her this was important. I have tried to capture this with a Voicethread. We may add to this over the coming weeks.
Welcome to my blog. My name is Naketa Ikihele. This blog has random musings and reflections from various facets of my life. Originally hailing from Aotearoa/New Zealand my passion and addiction for learning has enabled me to dabble in teaching in the private and public sector, nature kindergarten, facilitation, educational technologies in the early years, community projects, leadership roles, collaboration, communities of practice, international teaching and educational coaching.
Hi Mia,
ReplyDeleteThat is really cool you remembered all the rules to help you with school life. I look forward to more rules and life at school stories.
Love you
Dad
Hey Mia,
ReplyDeleteWould love to see your pictures and a voicethread of all the things you are loving about school:-) What has been the most exciting thing you have learnt? What makes you laugh at school? What is the best thing to do in the playground? Keep up the great learning everyday:-)
Tania
Thanks for your comments, hopefully we can get her Photo Story up during the week.
ReplyDeleteHi Naketa,
ReplyDeleteWe like your voice thread. We liked how your daughter spoke clearly. At school we have a number of rules such as: Being gentle, kind and helpful, to use our manners, and to be honest.
We liked your pictures. We in New Zealand do you live? Hopefully not in the Earthquake city "Christchurch".

ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment.
I live in Otara, Manukau City but I also work in Tamaki-Maungakiekie. Actually I was at your school talking to your principal on Friday. I will be working with early childhood centres in your area over the next few years so hopefully I get to meet you all someday.
My work office is in Christchurch, although I work from homw. I know lots of colleagues who have been affected by the quake. You may like to visit a site that my colleagues have created.
